Multinational Pharmaceutical Company gets competitive advantage with a Sales and Marketing Business Intelligence (BI) Solution from NTT DATA Philippines

A leading multinational supplier of branded and generic pharmaceutical company has partnered with NTT DATA Philippines, a leading IT solutions provider, in the implementation of a Business Intelligence Solution that will allow them to efficiently monitor sales and marketing performance.
This Pharmaceutical Company is a subsidiary of a Group of Companies based in South Africa that caters to more than 150 countries around the world. The need for a BI system was brought about by difficulties in creating accurate sales reports and incentives per Med Rep based on actual sales generated.
※“We have had difficulties in the calculation of incentives for our Med Reps. We encountered huge discrepancies due mostly to human error,” shared Mr. Jojo Casaje, Group Sales Manager of this leading pharmaceutical company. They became aware of these discrepancies but were not able to pinpoint where the errors were.
NTT DATA Philippines developed a customized reporting and analysis solution for the pharmaceutical industry running on Microsoft SQL Server 2012. With the latest enhancements on SQL Server, the system allows this Customer to process their monthly sales reports in minutes instead of days. These reports gathered from several sources nationwide are now easily transformed into a single master list. With this, strategic business plans for improvement are immediately made available - i.e. the Management can promptly act to address issues such as which areas are behind/on track in terms of sales target and they can simply analyze sales data based on the consolidated reports.
※“We saw data in incentives that do not match. Because of the extra layer of validation, this Customer's sales team immediately understood how to fix the calculation and how to do it themselves without relying too much on IT people,” shared Mr. Poch Reyes, Managing Director of NTT DATA Philippines.
The Customer is now able to process their monthly sales reports and incentives calculation within minutes from their usual 3-5 days of manual processing. Templates are already provided to be filled up using their Android Tablets integrated with the system for automatic data upload. This process easily records the number of hospital visits of Med Reps, and the actual sales they make per day versus calls made. Most importantly, accuracy of data is greatly increased because processes are now automated.
