NTT DATA Singapore Champions Commuter Well-being and Celebrates Recognition for Caring Commuter Leadership
Singapore, [November 30, 2023] – NTT DATA Singapore, a global IT services provider, would like to thank the Acting Minister for Transport, Mr. Chee Hong Tat and Caring SG Commuter Steering Committee (CCSC) for acknowledging and promoting a caring commuter culture through the Caring Commuter Week.
CCSC’s commitment to fostering a culture of care among commuters aligns with NTT DATA's values of respecting diversity and creating a positive societal impact.
In the opening address by Acting Minister for Transport, Mr. Chee Hong Tat, at the launch of the Public Transport Workers’ Appreciation Day and CCW 2023 on 4 Nov, he emphasized the crucial role of public transport workers in maintaining a seamless transportation system and announced the FIRST batch of Caring Commuter Champion (CCC) Inspirers. These individuals are recognised for promoting the Caring Commuter movement in their workplace or community and actively taking part in activities organised by the Caring SG Commuters Committee. Five Caring Commuter Champions (Inspirer) were presented with certificates.
Notably, one of our own, Ms. Jean Chua, our Head of Branding and Communications, was recognized for her outstanding commitment to creating a more pleasant commuting experience in the community and promoting it in the workplace. Expressing her gratitude, Jean said "Being acknowledged as a Caring Commuter Champion (Inspirer) is truly an honour. It highlights the importance of kindness and consideration in our daily interactions, particularly in the realm of public transportation. I am thrilled to contribute to a more compassionate commuting environment."
Krishnappan Ramanathan, Managing Director of NTT DATA Singapore underscored the company's pride as a participant in the compassionate commuter program. “We take immense pride in being part of this transformative initiative, aligned with our NTT DATA values. It highlights our commitment to positively impacting society by showing consideration and respecting the needs of all individuals. We firmly believe that cultivating a culture of caring commuting benefits everyone, and we are dedicated to actively contributing to its success.”
Acting Minister Chee ended his speech by highlighting that, “All of us can make a difference to the journey of others. Building on the diligent work of our public transport workers, acts of kindness by our fellow commuters can be the “last mile” of a great commuting experience.”
As an honoured recipient of the Caring Commuter Champion (Inspirer) award, and a dedicated member of the program, NTT DATA Singapore is excited about further contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate Singapore.
