About

It is our pleasure to continue to host this concert series in an open application style to convey our unending gratitude to our customers. This is the 23rd concert and the concept this time is "what has been loved is loved as ever, even though the world has changed". We present a splendid program to celebrate the 30th anniversary of NTT DATA that will take our guests to a beautiful music world.

Beatrice Venezi, a young female conductor who is internationally acclaimed and leading the next generation, will conduct the "Japan Virtuoso Symphony Orchestra" with two soloists. The orchestra consists of concertmasters and principal players, who are some of the finest musicians in Japan. They will infuse new life into melodies and share an unforgettable time with you.

Beatrice Venezi

In February 2017, appointed Chief Guest Conductor of the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. In 2016, appointed Assistant Conductor of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and Chief Conductor Orchestra Scarlatti Young.

Born in 1990, graduated Master Program in Conducting at Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi", Milan in 2015. Venezi has conducted symphonic orchestras such as Sofia Philharmonic in March 2018, the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra in December 2017, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. She has usually conducted Italian orchestras positively such as the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Lucca.
As opera conductor, she has conducted Falstaff at Croatian National Theatre in March 2018, Carmen at the State National Opera House of Georgia in 2017, Manon Lescaut with Orchestra della Toscana at Teatro Goldoni, Livorno in February 2017, Turandot at Puccini Festival, and acted as assistant conductor for Candide at Fondazione Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence on 2015. She is expected to be active mainly in Europe as a female conductor of a new generation.

Soloists

Sara Kobayashi, Soprano

Sara Kobayashi graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed her post-graduate studies at the same university. In 2017 she received the 27th Idemitsu Music Award. From 2010 to 2015, Kobayashi polished her skills in Vienna and Rome. She made her debut in Japan in 2006, and her European debut as Lauretta in the Sofia National Opera production of Gianni Schicchi. Kobayashi has performed in many operas and concerts. In 2016, she released her second CD on the Nippon Columbia label. She has also appeared on numerous TV broadcasts, including the "NHK New Year Opera Concert".Sara Kobayashi is an associate professor at Osaka University of Arts.

John Ken Nuzzo, Tenor

John Ken Nuzzo is one of the most talented tenor in Japan, attracting many audiences with his voice and vocal technics. He made his debut at the Vienna Sate Opera and at the Metropolitan Opera. Sang the theme song for NHK's historical drama "Shinsen-Gumi".
Through his career, he has worked with many talented singers and orchestras worldwide, and most recently the duet from the opera "The Pearl Fishers" with Plácido Domingo was highly praised. Besides operas and music festivals, he is often heard in art song recitals. He made his Taiwan and Hong Kong debut, spreading his career in Asia.

JAPAN VIRTUOSO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Japan Virtuoso Symphony Orchestra gave its first public performance in September 1991. It was born from the idea of bringing outstanding conductors and principal instrumentalists from throughout Japan into a new orchestra, one that would signal Japan’s full assimilation of Western music nearly 150 years after its introduction.
Since its formal concert debut at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo in September 1992, the JVSO has performed annual concerts in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Nishinomiya.
The JVSO’s masterful interpretation of important works in the Western canon makes it widely known in Japan, and destines the orchestra to be an important cultural representative abroad.

Application

How to apply

We invite 575 pairs (1,150 people) to the concert on Sunday, September 16th for free.
You can apply either online or by postcard.

If there are more applicants than the number of tickets, we will select winners in a drawing. We will send postcards to the winners that they can exchange with tickets. (The postcards will be sent in mid August.)
This concert can only be applied to Japan residents.
