TC-SI-130a.2 In fiscal 2023, the total water withdrawn across 14 NTT DATA-owned buildings in Japan was 413,779 ㎥, while the total water consumed (evaporation from cooling systems) amounted to 203,297 ㎥. Additionally, an analysis of nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities was conducted. As part of this effort, emergency water storage tanks have been installed at data centers in Southeast Asia, particularly in areas with extremely high water stress. Data Privacy & Freedom of Expression Description of policies and practices relating to behavioral advertising and user privacy TC-SI-220a.1

NTT DATA Group Corporation has established the following policies regarding user privacy and targeted advertising.

  • Regarding the protection of personal information (data privacy), NTT DATA Group Corporation ensures compliance with the NTT DATA GROUP Data Protection Policy (DP Policy) and adheres strictly to personal data protection laws and regulations in various countries and regions, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Specifically, we establish guidelines such as privacy policies and require the appropriate handling of personal information according to these rules, ensuring that personal information is adequately protected across the entire Group. These standards also extend to partner companies to whom we outsource operations, ensuring proper handling of information assets. The Company recognizes the importance of personal information (including specific personal information) and considers personal information protection as a fundamental corporate activity. We view the sincere implementation of personal information protection measures as a social responsibility and have established the following personal information protection policy, ensuring its dissemination and enforcement among executives, employees, and collaborators.
  • As stated in NTT DATA GROUP Corporation's Personal Information Protection Policy, personal information shall be collected only after informing the customers of the purpose and obtaining consent for doing so, except when the rights or interests of customers or third parties may be injured. The personal information obtained will not be used for any purposes other than those for which consent has been obtained. Personal information collected by us shall not be provided to third parties without prior express consent of the customers, except as required by law or regulation. We will collect personal information only to the extent necessary for achieving the stated purposes, and after the specified period for use or storage has elapsed, it will be promptly disposed of or returned.
  • We will implement appropriate security measures to protect the personal information obtained from customers. These security measures include organizational, technical (such as encryption, pseudonymization, anonymization), and physical safeguards.
  • In the case of a request by the individual for their personal data (such as for disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, suspension of use, or erasure), we will respond in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

Update on the Improper Acquisition of Information in Certified Projects under the Next-Generation Medical Infrastructure Act
Description of approach to identifying and addressing data security risks, including use of third-party cybersecurity standards TC-SI-230a.2 NTT DATA believes that it is crucial to strike an appropriate balance between ensuring information security and actively utilizing and sharing information. To this end, we implement various measures, including management measures such as developing rules and conducting information security education and awareness activities, as well as technical measures such as deploying information leakage countermeasures and adopting zero-trust architecture.
Additionally, to share knowledge and expertise across the Group, we promote the flow of knowledge within the Group through forums such as the NTT DATA Group information security forum for Group companies in Japan and the Global Security Meeting for overseas Group companies, working toward the establishment of unified information security governance across the Group.

For the overseas Group, the "One Voice" survey is conducted biennially. The results of the fiscal 2023 survey show that the percentage of highly engaged employees is 71%, exceeding the average of 69% for the participating companies in the survey (with 83% globally).
